Half-hatched duck eggs in tamarind sauce – Hột vịt lộn xào me
I have read through the blog and noticed that the “half hatched duck eggs” was mentioned before. However, it would be flawed if we didn’t write about another version of that dish, the so called “half hatched duck eggs in tamarind sauce”.
I came across this special dish over a year ago and really fell for it. The very first step of making this dish is somehow similar to the original one, then the boiled eggs will be cooked with the sauce made from tamarind, fried garlic, cornstarch, chilies and cilantro. When everything is perfectly mixed, it will be decorated with peppers, roasted peanuts and Vietnamese mint. This dish must be served hot, with or without bread.
This kind of half hatched duck eggs is not so popular as the boiled one but it’s not too hard to be found in Da Nang. In Vietnamese it is called “Hột vịt lộn xào me”. Just give it a try and see how delicious it is.
