Cơm tay cầm Cung Đình: Outstanding Vietnamese home-style dinner

“So what’s special about the restaurant that we’re going to?” – asked my Japanese friends when I took them to Cung Đình (name of restaurant) last week Despite having known the restaurant since childhood, I paused a while to find the answer. 

 
I could’ve told my friends that I wanted them to try a traditional Vietnamese home-style dinner: the tradition of having different dishes to eat with rice and to share with other family members. Most of the dishes at this place are what Vietnamese are brought up with; what helped shape the Vietnamese cuisine.
I could’ve told them that the food quality of this restaurant was truly amazing. To make a typical Vietnamese who eats similar dishes at home everyday like myself say that, there must be something special. This place brings home-style dishes to a new level.
I could’ve told them that Thịt kho ruốc sả there is a serious knock-out. It is one of the traditional signature dishes of Central Vietnam that they must try while they’re in Da Nang. Not to mention the interesting yellow rice cooked and served in claypots.
 
Or I could’ve told them that the place was airconditioned with cosy homefeel and relaxing music. A perfect venue for family gathering especially in the hottest summer days. 
 
But I didn’t tell them all that. I just simply replied “Trust me you’ll love it”. And they did.

  • Hoành thánh chiên (Fried wonton) – 50,000
