Bánh chuối hấp - Steamed Banana Cake

  • Yield: 4-6 Servings

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced banana, sugar, a pinch of salt and a few drops yellow food coloring. Mix well and set aside for 15 minutes. Then add tapioca starch and water. Mix untill well combined.
  • Line a pan or a mold with plastic wrap. Pour the mixture into the mold and smooth the surface.
  • Steam for 20 minutes on medium high heat. Remember to tie the lid of the steamer with kitchen towel to avoid water dripping into the cake.
  • Let cool completely. Grease the knife and cut into diamond-shaped pieces. Drizzle a generous amount of coconut sauce on top and garnish with crushed roasted peanuts and sesame.

It took me too much more times to find out ( still don’t know some others) what is the single item (ingredient) in your recipe than to know how to make the steamed banana cake. Why don’t you tell people what the things in Vietnamese after English words? The whole ingredient I only know water, sugar, salt, food colors. the other stuffs I don’t know what they are, could you please tell?
