Edible fern?

Guest post by Na Pham
This post is about one strange kind of veggies, at least to me.
Can you tell the name when you first look at the photo? As for me, I’d call it FERN or dương xỉ.

The other day, I had a morning off work then I decided to walk myself to the market nearby where I noticed a little girl, around 10 years old, selling some Hue stuff that was laid out humbly on an old mat on the ground. As I stopped at her “shop”, she showed me 2 bunches of the greens mentioned. I was very surprised and asked “what can I do with these ferns babe? For ikebana?” – “Nope, sis, they are edible, buy and taste, you will love them for sure”. Alright, I took them home and started to do a small research on Google. According to Mr.Google, this kind of fern is called RAU DỚN and is considered to be rich in nutrition and the king of veggies!Just like the Water morning glory (rau muống), rau dớn can be boiled, stir fried, made into salads or soup… Here I have RAU DỚN XÀO TỎI (veggies stir fried with garlic) and they just go rite to my taste ♥ I did enjoy the combination of chewiness and crispiness, sweetness and tartness…

Very cheap, 2500VND for one bunch.
